The Best Of The Rest: Too Tired For Cock

Another month goes by in cyber land and another quote is taken out of context. Let's see what we've found this month.

Following a weekend of warehouse based debauchery, I have a positive outlook on the state of British rave culture. Having disapprovingly shook my head at an article I read on the Mixmag website that in my opinion amounted to little more than scare mongering, I can say with a level of self satisfaction that although re-appropriating warehouse space for electronic music parties can often be a bit of a gimmick, when done well it is inspiring. So enough of that, what of the web?

Doc Scott: Future Beats Volume 11

First up we have volume 11 of Doc Scott's ongoing Future Beats mix series. Clocking in at over 3 hours of music, it is something of an audio marathon. With a list of artists including the likes of Fracture, Om Unit, Overlook, Clarity, Krust, Indigo, Stray, Submerse and Abstract Elements, it would be fair to say that Doc Scott has his heart back in music at 170 beats per minute.

Cylon:Podcast:001:Loxy

Following in a not dissimilar ilk is the Cylon Podcast from mr grey scale himself, Loxy. Presumably separate to his previous CX podcast series, the Cylon Podcast has been met with enthusiasm across the social networks. If any of the music on here will see release is anyone's guess and as yet we haven't seen any kind of track listing. If you like your beats faceless with a distinct anonymity, then this is for you.

Mistabishi Public Relations

One time Hospital Records golden boy and all time social misfit Mistabishi has once again managed to upset the world of drum & bass. This time in the form of a recent interview for Kmag. While there is no real criticism of his music, his general attitude is pathetic. There is an air of arrogance to the guy that is completely unpalatable. Why stop at going on safari? Just go away. Enjoy the reader comments at the bottom of the interview!

Briefcase Wanker

If you live in the UK you should know who George Osborne is. For those who belong to the X Factor generation or are not from the UK, George Osborne is a Conservative politician. He is the Chancellor of the Exchequer and Second Lord of the Treasury of the United Kingdom. He is not a very popular chap, but to be honest his position would never allow him to be the darling of the people... But he is willing to have a go! Or at least he was, so he joined Twitter. Such was the public response that Buzzfeed have put together a nice selection of public abuse in reaction to his one and only tweet.

Until next month, that's your lot!
